Author: Zheng Jiahao Date: 2024-04-25

On the evening of April 22nd, the Health Science Center at Ningbo University invited Officer Wang Ling from the Wenyuan Police Station to deliver a lecture titled "Jointly Guarding Against Telecom Fraud for a Harmonious Online Community." Nearly 100 faculty members and students attended the event.

During the seminar, Officer Wang Ling provided a detailed introduction to the common tactics and characteristics of telecommunication network fraud, and popularized a formula for identifying scams: "Unidentifiable individuals + non-face-to-face communication tools + requests for transferring money = fraud." Through specific cases, such as impersonating acquaintances, order brushing scams, and game transaction frauds, Officer Wang demonstrated the typical methods used by scammers and analyzed effective strategies for recognizing and preventing these fraudulent activities.

In the interactive session, students eagerly asked questions and actively shared their own experiences with telecom fraud. Officer Wang patiently answered each question and, based on the students' cases, proposed practical measures for prevention. The discussion was lively and engaging.

The Health Science Center has always placed great emphasis on student safety education and life education. This lecture is an important part of the 2024 series of safety education activities for students at the Health Science Center. Its purpose is to enhance students' self-protection awareness and strengthen their ability to prevent fraud. Through this seminar, not only did the students deepen their understanding of telecommunication network fraud, but they also laid a solid foundation for building a "Safe Health Science Center," providing valuable experience and knowledge for future cybersecurity education.
