Bio: Pan An is a professor at the School of Public Health, Tongji Medical College, Huazhong University of Science and Technology. He is also a doctoral supervisor and the dean of the school. He has been recognized as a National Distinguished Young Scholar. Additionally, he serves as the associate editor of the authoritative journal in nutrition, the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition, the deputy editor of Obesity Reviews, and an editorial board member of the Chinese Medical Journal. He is a member of the National Medical Professional Graduate Education Steering Committee, the vice chairman of the Basic Nutrition Branch of the Chinese Nutrition Society, and the vice chairman of the Nutritional Epidemiology Branch. He is also a member of the Epidemiology Branch of the Chinese Preventive Medicine Association, a commissioner of the Lancet Commission on Obesity, and a member of the International Advisory Committee for The Lancet Diabetes & Endocrinology. Pan An has been honored with the Shulan Medical Youth Award, the Ho Leung Ho Lee Foundation Young Scientist Award, and the Zhong Nanshan Youth Science and Technology Innovation Award. His main research focuses on chronic disease epidemiology and nutritional epidemiology. He has led key and general projects of the National Natural Science Foundation, key research and development projects of the Ministry of Science and Technology, and published over 400 papers with more than 27,000 citations and an H-index of 84. He has been listed as a highly cited scientist globally for six consecutive years.
