Recently, the qualification and quarter-final of the 13th Chinese Bridge Chinese Proficiency Competition for Foreign Secondary School Students sponsored by the Center for Language Education and Cooperation were successfully held in the form of an online "cloud competition". After two fierce competitions，Mira,a secondary school student nominated by the Confucius Institute at Toamasina University, successfully broke into the top three of the African Group and advanced to the semi-final.

In this year's "Cloud" competition, the theme is "Fly High with Chinese", and it is conducted in the form of "Cloud Recording" and Internet connection. Participants will go through four stages: qualification, quarter-final, semifinal and final. They will compete in basic knowledge written examination, Chinese talent show, keynote speech, interesting knowledge quiz, video listening, "special speech for my hometown", etc. These competition forms examine the contestants' Chinese language ability, knowledge of China's national conditions, the level of mastering Chinese cultural skills, and the ability of comprehensive learning and practical application of Chinese language and culture.

In August this year, the Confucius Institute at Toamasina University hosted the "Cloud" preliminaries for the 13th Chinese Bridge Chinese Proficiency Competition for Foreign Secondary School Students in Madagascar. After fierce competition, Mira from the Fenerive Zhongshan School, a teaching site under the Confucius Institute at Toamasina University, stood out, won the first place in the Madagascar competition area and represented Madagascar in the advanced competition. Now, Mira has successfully advanced to the semi-finals in this Chinese Bridge World Competition, and will compete for the African championship and the top five finalists.

In recent years, the Confucius Institute at Toamasina University has actively carried out Chinese teaching. It has achieved obvious results in disseminating excellent Chinese culture, telling Chinese stories, and interpreting the charm of Chinese and Chinese culture. In 2019, the Confucius Institute at Toamasina University selected high school student Yanova to participate in the Chinese Bridge competition in China, and won the first place in the African Group and was awarded the honor of "Ambassador of Chinese Language".
