On March 25, the 59th session of Xinglin Science Popularization Lecture themed on “Where am I from - Mystery of Embryo” was given by Associate Professor Li Na from the School of Basic Medical Science in the Wisdom Classroom on the fourth floor of Zhizhen Building, which was attended by over 30 pupils and parents.
Opening the lecture with the question “Where am I from?”, Professor Li encouraged the audience to look for the answer through the animated video named “The Original Family” that vividly showed the process of embryo fertilization, and used interesting metaphors to help the children easily understand the knowledge. Combining knowledge and animation, this science popularization lecture taught to children about the complicated knowledge about pregnancy in an easy-to-understand way. The children listened attentively and participated actively in the interaction, saying that the class was very interesting and looking forward to the next life and health lecture.
Sponsored by the NBU Health Science Center and organized by Research and Development Office, this is one of the medical science popularization activities with the theme of “Understanding Medical Science, Exploring Physical Mysteries, Caring for Life and Health” for primary school students of Ningbo, which aims to inculcate teenagers and children with scientific values of life, popularize medical knowledge, explore the physical body, improve health awareness and stimulate interest in learning.
