On the morning of July 31st, a grand ceremony marked the commencement of construction for the comprehensive building project at Ningbo University Health Science Center (main campus base). Leaders from Ningbo Municipal Government, Ningbo Municipal Health Commission, and Ningbo University, representatives from participating construction units, as well as faculty and student representatives attended the ceremony and collectively laid the foundation for the project.
Zhu Da, Secretary of the CPC Ningbo University Committee,made a passionate speech, stating that the commencement of the construction of the comprehensive building of theHealth Science Center(Main Campus) embodies the care and affection from various departments for Ningbo University. Member of the Standing Committee and Secretary of the CPC Zhejiang Provincial Committee Peng Jiaxue and Mayor of NingboTang Feifan havevisited Ningbo University and provided guidance and requirements for the development of theHealth Science Center. On the occasion of the commencement of the comprehensive building of theHealth Science Center(Main Campus), he expressed sincere gratitude on behalf of Ningbo University to all departments and unitswho pay attention to the development of Ningbo University. Zhu Da introduced the 25-year development history and important achievements of theHealth Science Center, pointing out that the construction of the comprehensive building of theHealth Science Center(Main Campus) is a powerful measure in the plan to build a "medical peak", and it is also a good starting point. Zhu Da believes that architecture is flowing music, solidified history, and an important part of a modern city's civilization. The completion of the comprehensive building of Ningbo UniversityHealth Science Center(Main Campus) will certainly become a unique landscape on Fenghua Road. He hopes that this project can be constructed as a project of the century, a classic project, and a lasting legacy.
Secretary of the CPC Ningbo Municipal Health Commission and the Directer Yu Caoping pointed out that medical education is the main channel for training future medical staff and an important cornerstone for the development of health care. In the future, the Ningbo Municipal Health Commission will continue to focus on the overall development of the city and strongly support the construction of the comprehensive building of Ningbo University Health Science Center (Main Campus). He hopes that Ningbo University will use the construction of the Main Campus as a new opportunity to comprehensively promote the construction and development of various undertakings in the Health Science Center, making greater contributions to the development of Ningbo's healthcare.

He stated that as a construction unit, they will carefully plan, meticulously deploy, and scientifically construct, strictly controlling quality, safety, and progress to ensure the efficient completion of the construction tasks, delivering satisfactory results to all parties.
The comprehensive building of Ningbo University Health Science Center (Main Campus) is the first project in the "dual-base" construction model of Ningbo University Health Science Center as required by the Standing Committee of the Municipal Party Committee. It is mainly used for basic medical education and undergraduate education, with the goal of building a center for medical education, teaching, and scientific research at Ningbo University.
The comprehensive building of the Health Science Center consists of four main buildings: a public service building, a teaching laboratory building, an experimental animal center, and a scientific research laboratory building, along with corridors. The total land area is approximately 24,543 square meters, with a total construction area of about 75,990 square meters, of which the above-ground construction area is about 62,990 square meters, mainly used for experimental practice rooms, scientific research platform rooms, teacher offices, etc.; the underground construction area is about 13,000 square meters, with 270 underground vehicle parking spaces, equipment rooms, etc. The total estimated investment for this project is approximately 765.49 million yuan. After the project is completed, it will greatly improve the conditions and environment of Ningbo University Health Science Center.
