Author: Date: 2023-11-10

To effectively enhance the fire safety awareness of teachers, students, and staff, as well as to improve their self-rescue and self-protection abilities and to gain a deeper understanding of fire escape knowledge, on the afternoon of November 10th, the School of Medicine in collaboration with the Security Department conducted a "Fire Emergency Evacuation Drill." Teachers Pan Yonghong and Zheng Yonghui from the Security Department, along with representatives of teachers and students from the School of Medicine, participated in this event.

During the activity, the Security Department staff delivered a lecture on fire safety knowledge to the teachers and students of the School of Medicine, explaining how to correctly report a fire, extinguish an initial fire, and techniques for escaping a fire scene. Following the urgent and loud alarm sound, the fire evacuation drill officially began. According to the escape drill plan, the teachers and students from the School of Medicine quickly and orderly evacuated from the fourth floor of Wang Changlai Building, holding wet towels over their mouths and noses, bending over and walking quickly with small steps, and gathered in a safe area. Everyone remained calm and organized during the emergency, and there were no safety incidents such as crowding, stampedes, or injuries. Finally, the Security Department staff demonstrated how to use firefighting equipment, stressed the importance of timely replacement of various types of fire-fighting equipment and facilities to ensure they can be deployed and function effectively in critical moments, and conducted hands-on fire extinguishing exercises so that all participants could correctly master the operation of fire extinguishers.

This fire emergency drill is one of the themed educational activities of the School's campus safety publicity month. The practical exercise also improved the safety awareness and self-protection skills of teachers and students and strengthened the emergency response capabilities of the School of Medicine's teachers and students in the event of sudden disasters.
