On November 4th, the 13th Zhejiang Provincial College Students Medical Technique Skills Competition along with the First Zhejiang Provincial College Students Basic Medical Science Competition concluded at Wenzhou Medical University. Three teams from the Basic Medical Science Institute of the School of Medicine at Ningbo University won one silver and two bronze medals, marking remarkable achievements. The project "Analysis of the Expression of Immune Checkpoint VISTA on Various Immune Cells in Peripheral Blood of Patients with Myasthenia Gravis and its Correlation with Disease Progression," led by Li Na and Hou Xin, with team members Li Jianing, Liu Huan, Wang Yixuan, and Li Siyu, garnered a silver medal. The projects "Research on Multitarget Fascaplysin-n-tarcine Against Alzheimer's Disease" guided by Liu Hao, with participants Xu Jiayi, Hu Chenwei, Cai Jinhuan, and Zhou Yi, and "Analysis of the Molecular Mechanism Promoting Pancreatic Cancer Cell Death by Enteromorpha Prolifera Polyphenols" supervised by Xi Yang and Chen Pan, with team members Lei Yuxin, Shi Jiaying, Luo Xia, Fan Youya, and Jiang Han, both received bronze medals. Professor Zhang Junfang from the Basic Medical Science Institute served as a member of the judging panel.

This competition was part of an initiative by the Basic Medical Science Institute to cultivate outstanding medical talent in line with the educational goal of fostering integrity and scholarship. Through a discipline competition model that promotes teaching and learning through competition and integrates both aspects, the institute contributes to the development of the Medical Department of Ningbo University and the Ningbo City Medical Summit Plan.
