On March 24th, the world observed the 29th World Tuberculosis Day. In order to deeply implement the spirit of the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China and practice the principle of "people first, life first," the Sunshine 120 Youth Volunteer Association's "Health Ambassadors" lecture group from the Health Science Center of Ningbo University took action in the spirit of learning from Lei Feng by turning volunteer service into concrete actions and actively promoting knowledge on tuberculosis prevention and control.

The lecture group, in collaboration with the Jiangbei District Center for Disease Control and Prevention, conducted themed lectures on "Joint Efforts to End the Epidemic of Tuberculosis" at Ningbo Lingfeng School, Shanghai Jiao Tong University Education Group Ningbo Experimental School, and the main campus of Ningbo University.

Lectures were held at Ningbo Lingfeng School

Lectures were also conducted at the Shanghai Jiao Tong Ningbo Experimental School

For two lectures aimed at sixth-grade elementary school students, the members of the lecture group explained the definition, dangers, prevention, and treatment of tuberculosis using language that was both simple and easy to understand yet professionally detailed. Through vivid case analyses, the young students concretely grasped the harm of tuberculosis and understood that it is not distant from them. They learned to remember the symptoms of tuberculosis and preventive measures to protect themselves, and to seek help promptly if they exhibit similar symptoms. To ensure that the elementary school students remained focused on the content and truly mastered the knowledge, the members of the lecture group interacted with them throughout the event, distributing materials on tuberculosis prevention, posing fun and valuable questions, and patiently answering the students' queries. They also thoughtfully prepared various small gifts, which kept the children engrossed and eager to participate, gaining a wealth of knowledge. The two lecture events were both educational and entertaining, allowing the children to acquire knowledge joyfully while subtly imparting the spirit of volunteer service.

On March 24th, the Sunshine 120 Youth Volunteer Association of the Health Science Center at Ningbo University invited Li Pingping, the head of the Jiangbei District CDC, to conduct a science popularization lecture on tuberculosis prevention and control. From key points of tuberculosis prevention and control in schools to basic knowledge such as transmission routes and infection symptoms, Li Pingping systematically introduced relevant knowledge on tuberculosis prevention and control through real cases. She also explained the severe situation of tuberculosis prevention and control in China and related policies, helping teachers and students deeply realize the serious harm of tuberculosis and encouraging everyone to maintain physical and mental health while preventing tuberculosis through reasonable diet, balanced nutrition, and enhancing personal resistance.
