Recently, the 2024 Forum on Advancements in Immunology Research was held at the Ningbo International Conference Center. The forum was jointly organized by the School of Basic Medical Sciences at Ningbo University's Health Science Center, the Shanghai Institute of Immunology, and the Tsinghua University Institute of Immunology. The event featured 15 distinguished experts and scholars from the field of immunology, both domestic and international, including Academician Dong Chen, Dean of the Medical School at Westlake University. They engaged in exchanges and discussions on hot topics and cutting-edge issues related to immunology and its associated fields. Approximately 300 teachers and students from institutions such as the Medical School of Westlake University, the Institute of Immunology at Tsinghua University, the Shanghai Institute of Immunology, the Shanghai Institute of Immunotherapy Innovation, and the School of Basic Medical Sciences at Ningbo University's Health Science Center participated in the forum.

During the opening ceremony of the forum, Professor Liu Yu, the Executive Director of Ningbo University's Health Science Center, delivered a welcoming speech. On behalf of the Health Science Center, she welcomed all experts and participants to the beautiful city of Ningbo. She stated that, compared to the beauty of Ningbo, the scientific beauty of medical research and immunological studies is even more profound, and the endless exploration and vision of scientific researchers are paramount. She expressed her anticipation that the conference would lead to further collaborations through the exchanges made possible by this event.

At the forum, three experts from Ningbo University's Health Science Center presented their academic reports. Professor Liu Yu elaborated on how suppressing GSDMD-dependent cell death could reduce self-administration of methamphetamine in rats; Researcher Fang Defeng discussed how varying expression levels of the transcription factor T-bet could indicate the terminal maturation level of NK cells; and Professor Wen Jinsheng shared insights on the cross-immunological reaction characteristics between different viruses within the Flavivirus genus, functional research, and the latest progress in promoting novel vaccine research. These presentations sparked great interest among the attendees and led to enthusiastic discussions during the subsequent Q&A session.

The School of Basic Medical Sciences has always placed great emphasis on fostering academic exchanges. By organizing various academic activities such as seminars, lectures, and forums, it aims to bring together experts and scholars from the field of medicine both domestically and internationally to discuss frontier and hot-topic issues in the field of medicine. These events provide opportunities for teachers and students to engage with peers from around the world, offering them a broad academic perspective and high-level academic resources.
