Author: Date: 2024-09-18

On the morning of August 23, the National Natural Science Foundation of China released the review results of the centrally received application projects for 2024, and the Medical School was approved for a record number and amount of National Natural Science Foundation projects.

So far, in 2024, the Medical School has been approved for a total of 25 National Natural Science Foundation projects, including 8 general projects and 17 youth fund projects. The number of approved projects has increased by 78% compared to 2023; the approved funds are about 9.01 million yuan, an increase of 89% compared to 2023.

The National Natural Science Foundation of China is the main channel for supporting basic research in our country and an important indicator of the scientific research level of universities. In recent years, the competition for the National Natural Science Foundation has become increasingly fierce, with a continuous increase in the number of applications and a continuous decline in the funding rate, while the proportion of medical field applications has been rising year by year. Faced with multiple challenges, the Medical School has carried out "organized scientific research," improving the quality of project applications and the funding rate through active planning, extensive mobilization, and precise guidance.
