On the afternoon of August 19, Wo Yongte, Deputy Secretary of the Yuyao Municipal Committee and Mayor, along with Vice Mayor Lin Ti, led a delegation including officials from the Yuyao City Government Office, Health Bureau, and Yuyao People's Hospital to visit the school for work discussions. The reception team included Cai Ronggen, President and Academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences; Zhang Zhenzhu, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and Secretary of the Medical Department Party Committee; and Yu Yichun, member of the Party Committee. Relevant department heads from the Party (School) Office, Organization Department, Academic Affairs Office, Medical Specialty Class, and Medical Department also participated in the reception.
At the meeting, attendees first watched a promotional video about Ningbo University Health Science Center. Cai Ronggen introduced the current state of the school’s operations and the development opportunities facing the Medical Department. The head of the Medical Department shared the achievements and characteristics of its education. Li Bin, Director of Yuyao Health Bureau, outlined the basic situation of Yuyao’s medical and health services and the current work measures being implemented. The person in charge at Yuyao People’s Hospital discussed the hospital’s operational status and existing development bottlenecks. Both parties discussed how to improve the medical and health services in Yuyao City.
Zhang Zhenzhu stated that the school would fully support the construction of medical and health services in Yuyao City, assist Yuyao People’s Hospital in improving teaching, scientific research, and discipline construction levels, and help the hospital achieve good results in national public hospital performance assessments and in striving to become a tertiary hospital.
Wo Yongte first affirmed the educational achievements of Ningbo University Health Science Center and thanked his alma mater for supporting the work of the Yuyao city government. He pointed out that the Yuyao municipal committee and government highly value the development of medical and health services and have prioritized making Yuyao People’s Hospital a tertiary hospital as a key task of the Yuyao city government. He hopes to engage in significant cooperation with Ningbo University Health Science Center in the field of medicine, establish a communication mechanism, and tackle challenges one by one around cooperative matters, ultimately achieving mutual enhancement.
Cai Ronggen thanked the Yuyao municipal committee and government for their support of Ningbo University Health Science Center’s "double first-class" initiative. He noted that serving society is one of the three major functions of higher education institutions and expressed that Ningbo University Health Science Center would fully utilize its advantages in talent aggregation and scientific research to support and help Yuyao People’s Hospital improve its research and teaching levels and strengthen its medical personnel team. He emphasized the need to designate specific individuals for work coordination, ensure implementation, and ultimately help improve the overall level of medical and health services in Yuyao City, contributing to the construction of a healthy Yuyao.
