On the morning of August 23, the National Natural Science Foundation of China announced the review results of the concentrated application projects for the year 2024, and the Medical School was granted a record number of National Natural Science Foundation projects and funding amount.

So far, in 2024, the Medical School has been approved for 25 National Natural Science Foundation projects, including 8 general projects and 17 youth fund projects. The number of approved projects has increased by 78% compared to 2023; the approved funds are about 9.01 million yuan, which is an 89% increase compared to 2023.

The National Natural Science Foundation of China is the main channel for supporting basic research in our country and an important indicator of the scientific research level of universities. In recent years, the competition for the National Natural Science Foundation has become increasingly fierce, with a continuous increase in the number of applications and a continuous decrease in the funding rate. The proportion of medical field application projects has been rising year by year. Faced with multiple challenges, the Medical School has carried out "organized scientific research", and improved the quality of fund application and the funding rate through active planning, extensive mobilization, and precise guidance.
