On October 16th, a special research group from the Ministry of Education on clinical medical education for international students visited the Ningbo University Health Science Center to conduct a specialized investigation and provide guidance on clinical medical education for international students. The research team consisted of Wu Qiang, former dean of the School of International Education at Anhui Medical University, and Liu Mingli, director of the Medical International Student Education Center at Shandong University. Zhou Gangyi, deputy director of the Academic Affairs Office, Yan Feng, vice dean of the College of International Exchange, Zhang Wei, deputy secretary of the Health Science Center, along with relevant staff members attended the meeting. Ye Meng, deputy director of the Health Science Center, chaired the meeting and presented a work report.
Ye Meng highlighted the significance of this specialized inspection in promoting the scientific and standardized development of undergraduate education in clinical medicine for international students at the center. He then detailed the history and current status of clinical medical education for international students, outlining future goals for improvement.
Wu Qiang, leader of the research group, introduced the background and significance of the specialized research on clinical medical education for international students, emphasizing the importance of such work under new circumstances for enhancing the internationalization of universities and serving national strategies. After the meeting, members of the research group examined the actual situation of the Health Science Center in areas such as enrollment, teaching, and training through discussions with teachers and international students, and reviews of teaching and management materials.
Through this research visit, the expert group affirmed the efforts and achievements of the Ningbo University Health Science Center in managing clinical medical education for international students. They pointed out issues and deficiencies in the teaching and management processes and provided suggestions for the development of clinical medical education for international students. It is hoped that the Health Science Center will further improve the quality of admissions, establish mechanisms for eliminating unsatisfactory international students, and implement supervision of internships for international students.
