The Body Donation Acceptance Center of Ningbo University (hereinafter referred to as the NBU Acceptance Station), was officially established after approval in 2021 by the Ningbo Red Cross and the Ningbo Health Commission. The center is responsible for accepting body donations from the Ningbo area and neighboring areas of Zhejiang Province. Under the direct leadership of the Ningbo University Health Science Center, the work of the acceptance station is handled by teachers and lab technicians of human anatomy (including one professor, three lecturers, and three lab technicians). The NBU Acceptance Station is equipped with comprehensive communication equipment, including a dedicated fax machine, printer, and special duty phone, providing 24/7 service for body donations. The school has set up a dedicated website for the Acceptance Station and timely updates the work information to the school and society. The staff at the Acceptance Station are responsible for reception, registration, acceptance of body donations, and related work, and the center is equipped with offices for donation registration, body processing rooms, memorial rooms, family rest rooms, and document archive rooms. So far, we have registered 121 voluntary body (cornea) donors and realized 52 body donations in cooperation with the Ningbo Red Cross and its Jiangbei branch. We have completed six science popularization activities for children and teenagers citywide, and more than ten new technology training sessions in collaboration with the affiliated hospital of Ningbo University. The NBU Acceptance Station encourages and upholds the noble actions of body donation volunteers with practical actions, promoting the development of medical education and scientific enterprise.

With the continuous development of societal civilization, people's quality is constantly improving, and funeral concepts are changing. Body donation is gaining more and more attention, recognition, and acceptance from the public. School leaders at all levels pay great attention to the work of the Acceptance Station. With the strong support and attention from the Health Science Center, the newly renovated Acceptance Station fully embodies humanitarian care in its design, giving a sense of solemnity and respect. The equipment conditions of the Acceptance Station are gradually improved. By formulating relevant rules and regulations, improving professional service mechanisms, strengthening volunteer service team training, and staff assessments, we aim to provide more high-quality and efficient services to society. "Humanity, fraternity, and dedication," the spirit of great love from body donors shines with the sun and the moon, coexisting with the universe. Human anatomy is an essential subject that every medical student must study and is the necessary path for them to become doctors. Donated bodies, mainly used for research in human anatomy and scientific research, help understand the basic structure and pathological changes of the human body, thus promoting the development of medical science. It's everyone's responsibility to pass on love. We hope that the whole society can participate in this noble action beneficial to the country and the people, making significant contributions to the healthy development of medical and health services and the cultivation of medical talents.
