The Basic Medical Experimental Teaching Center was established in 1998 under the Ningbo University Health Science Center. It consists of five teaching laboratories, namely, Morphology-Anatomy and Histology Embryology Laboratory, Morphology-Pathology and Pathogen Biology Laboratory, Physiology Laboratory, Biochemistry and Molecular Biology Laboratory, and Preventive Medicine Laboratory. Currently, it has over 4000 pieces of equipment with a total value exceeding 61 million yuan. There are 8 laboratory technicians.

The Basic Medical Experimental Teaching Center has made numerous explorations and attempts in various aspects such as experimental teaching system, experimental teaching environment, experimental courses, experimental teaching content methods, innovative and open experimental teaching, laboratory construction, experimental teacher team building, and laboratory management, as well as experimental teaching effects. It has built a layered, multi-module experimental teaching system where experimental classes and theoretical classes are interconnected yet relatively independent, integrating autonomy, openness, practicality, and innovation. A complete set of laboratory management regulations has been established; The center undertakes the teaching tasks of more than 400 experimental projects in 32 experimental courses.

The Basic Medical Experimental Teaching Center was rated as Zhejiang Province's College Experimental Teaching Demonstration Center in 2010 and was recognized as Zhejiang Province's Key Construction Experimental Teaching Demonstration Center in 2014.
